TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER
15- GLEN PERKINS, LHP
2010 Season: This is his 6th start of the season (had his 2nd start---April 16 at Lehigh Valley---suspended by rain in 2nd inning)...got his
3rd loss in his last start Thursday, April 29 vs. Lehigh Valley in the Wings 5-3 loss...his line: 5 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO...gave up a run in the 1st and two runs in the second...was 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in 5 games for Minnesota in MLB spring training.
2009 In Review: Made his 1st Twins Opening Day roster...went 8 innings in each of his 1st three starts allowing no more than two runs
in any of the three becoming the 1st pitcher to do that since Pat Hentgen for the Orioles in 2001...went on Twins disabled list May 18
with left elbow inflammation...made two rehab starts for Fort Myers before returning to Minnesota June 16...placed on disabled list August 11 with left shoulder tendonitis...finished the season with the Wings but did not pitch in any games.
Career: A part of the Red Wings Opening Day roster in 2007 and 2008...lost his Wings debut Sept. 3, 2006 vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (4.1 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 3 SO) in the next-to-last game of the regular season when Jeremy Cummings no-hit the Wings...won both of his Wings postseason appearances...earned the win in the decisive Game 4 of the divisional series over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 SO) while pitching in relief behind rehabbing Francisco Liriano...earned the win in Game 3 of the Governors Cup Championship Series at Toledo (7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 10 SO) striking out seven straight Toledo hitters at one point...made his MLB debut Sept. 21, 2006 at Boston becoming the 27th Minnesota native to play for the Twins...despite only four appearances was

win...his line: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO...retired 10 straight at one point...in his four starts is 2-0 with a 2.74 ERA (7 ER in 23 IP)...got the win in his first start Wednesday, April 14 at Lehigh Valley in the Wings 5-2 win...his line: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO...retired the final nine hitters he faced...began the season in the Wings bullpen but moved into the rotation for a spot start April 14 and stayed in the rotation to replace injured Anthony Swarzak.
2009 In Review: Spent the entire season at Double A New Britain going 11-11 with a 4.03 ERA in 28 games, 27 starts...led the team in wins and led the Eastern League in strikeouts with 133.
Career: The 26-year-old was originally the Twins 3rd round pick in 2005 out of Vanderbilt University...made four starts for the Wings in
2007 going 0-3 with a 10.57 ERA...went 24-23 with a 4.13 ERA in 72 games over 2 ½ seasons with New Britain (2007-2009)...coming into 2010, 115 of his 124 career Minor League appearances have been as a starter.
