Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
The ValleyCats debut of Koby Clemens will be pushed back by one day, as the game between Tri-City and Oneonta on Wednesday night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium was postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Thursday night, with the first game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Both games will be shortened to seven innings, and the nightcap will begin approximately a half hour after the conclusion of the opener.
Clemens, an eighth round draft pick of the Astros in 2005 and son of major leaguer Roger Clemens, was called up from Greeneville of the rookie Appalachian League. The 18-year-old third baseman was hitting .306/.403/.491 with four home runs in 108 at bats with Greeneville. The younger Clemens arrived at Bruno Stadium Wednesday afternoon along with his father. Both Roger and Koby spoke with the local media after arriving.
