IronBirds coast to an 11-2 win

The IronBirds scored seven runs in the top of the third inning vs. Williamsport Wednesday night, for an early 10-0 lead, and went on to coast to an 11-2 win in the start of a five-game road trip. It was the largest win margin of the year for the IronBirds.

Aberdeen got a 3-0, first-inning lead, on Mark Fleisher's two-run homer, his 7th, and Jason Maxey's RBI double.

The Birds sent 11 batters to the plate in the seven-run third which featured a Zack Davis 2-run 1B and a Zo Scott 3-run 2B, and also four walks.

Davis went 3-5, with three RBI's, and is hitting .424 during an 8-game hitting streak. Scott, Maxey, Fleisher and Davis combined to drive in ten runs. The IronBirds offensive resurgence continued as the team has 61 hits the past five games and is batting .297 over the last ten contests.

Fifth-round pick, righty Reid Hamblet got the win, allowing two runs and six hits in five innings. He improves to 4-3 on the season. Julio Soriano and James Hoey pitched two scoreless innings each.
