Arkansas Travelers News Release
The Los Angeles Angels announced Tuesday the promotion of Arkansas Travelers' ace Trevor Bell to Triple-A Salt Lake. Bell has been dominant in his first year in Double-A, leading the Texas League in ERA (2.23) and WHIP (1.08).
The 22-year-old righthander posted a 4-3 record with 51 strikeouts and 20 walks in 68.2 innings pitched in two and a half months at Arkansas. In 2008, Bell had a sub-.500 record and ERA over 4.00 between Rancho Cucamonga (California-Class A-Advanced) and Cedar Rapids (Midwest-Class A). He was a supplementary first round draft pick (37th overall) of the Angels in 2005 out of Crescenta Valley (Calif.) High School.
Bell is scheduled to make his first Triple-A start for the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday night against Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League at 6:05 CT.
