Six Travelers Named Texas League All-Stars

The Arkansas Travelers will be well-represented at the Texas League All-Star Game on July 1 at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. Six Travelers were voted to the North Division's 24-man All-Star team, which will be led by Arkansas manager Bobby Magallanes and his staff.
Centerfielder Peter Bourjos (currently on the disabled list) and catcher Hank Conger were both named starters, while infielder-outfielder Nate Sutton was selected as an infield reserve. Starting pitchers Trevor Reckling and Trevor Bell (just promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake) also made the team, as well as reliever Bobby Mosebach, honored as a Texas League All-Star for the second time.
Bourjos, 22, leads the league in triples and recorded a league-high 18-game hitting streak earlier in the season. He was batting .316 with 14 stolen bases before he went out with a left wrist injury suffered during batting practice almost two weeks ago.
Switch-hitting 21-year-old Conger is tied for first among Texas League catchers with 53 hits. Behind the plate, he hasn't allowed one past ball and is fourth in the league in runners caught stealing, 12 of 37 (32 percent).
Sutton, 26, is ninth in the league in batting average (.323) and has played all four infield positions, as well as left and center field. He leads the Travelers in doubles (10), walks (23) and has also stolen nine bases.
Reckling (3-2) was 19 years old when he was called up to Double-A Arkansas in late April and won three of his first four starts. He is second in the Texas League in ERA (2.73) and has struck out 42 batters in 42.2 innings.
Bell, 22, was called up to Triple-A on Tuesday after leading the league in ERA (2.23) and WHIP (1.08) for the first two and a half months of the season. Bell (4-3) was sixth in the Texas League with 51 strikeouts before the promotion.
Mosebach spent almost a month with Salt Lake this year, and between Double-A and Triple-A this season, he has only allowed a run of his 21 appearances. The 24-year-old has a 0.00 ERA and three saves with Arkansas in 19.1 innings, with more strikeouts (10) than hits allowed (9).
Arkansas hitting coach Francisco Matos, trainer Eric Munson and strength coach Josh Field will serve on the North Division staff with Magallanes.
Texas League managers, broadcasters and newspaper beat writers voted for the All-Star teams. The Springfield Cardinals led the North Division with nine All-Star selections. The Tulsa Drillers had six All-Stars, while the Northwest Arkansas Naturals had three.
