Traverse travels to Texas

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced late this afternoon that the Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman Patrick Traverse from the Des Moines-based, Iowa Stars.

Traverse, a 6-4, 207 pound defenseman, is currently the highest scoring defenseman on the Iowa Stars roster with 19 points, including 16 assists: 26(3/16/19). Two of Traverse's three goals this season have come on the power play and he notched the first four-point game in the Iowa Stars history with four assists on October 16th vs. San Antonio. He appeared in 72 games last season with the Houston Aeros (AHL), registering six goals and nine assists: 72(6/9/15)58.

The Montreal, Quebec-born Traverse has skated in 278 career NHL games, posting 14 goals, 51 assists and 113 penalty minutes: 278(14/51/65)113. He was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, 50th pick overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
