CLEVELAND - Cleveland Barons President Michael T. Lehr announced today plans to host the annual St. Edward/St. Ignatius high school hockey game at National City Rink at The Q.

On Saturday, January 28th on the National City Rink in The Q, the St. Ignatius Wildcats will play host to the St. Edward Eagles at 3:45pm. Following this game, the Cleveland Barons will battle the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05pm. By purchasing a ticket to the Barons game, fans gain admittance to both games. Gates will open at 3:00pm as the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Cleveland Barons T-Shirt. For ticket information, call the Barons front office at 216-420-0000.

This marks the third consecutive season that St. Edward and St. Ignatius have played before a Barons game.

The Eagles of St. Edward are the defending state champions and have won ten state championships in their history. St. Edward earned the state championship two seasons in a row, as they also earned the title in 2004, posting shut-outs in both state tournament games. The Wildcats of St. Ignatius own one state championship of their own as they were victorious in the 1999-2000 season.

"This event allows student athletes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in a professional venue," stated Lehr. "The momentum from the previous two seasons and the rivalry between the teams helps make this game even more special for the athletes and their family and friends."

St. Edward has a 2-0-0 record in previous "Cold War" games.

The Barons return to National City Rink at The Q on Wednesday, January 25th when they take on the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights. Tickets for all Barons games are on sale now at The Q Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. For more information contact the Front Office at 216.420.0000 or Crash The Net at www.clevelandbarons.net.
