Ivanans recalled, Ferland reassigned

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Raitis Ivanans has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs and that forward Jonathan Ferland has been reassigned to Hamilton.

Ivanans, 27, played in 26 games with the Bulldogs this season, collecting two goals and 65 penalty minutes. The 6'3'', 263-pound native of Riga, Latvia, has appeared in two games with the Canadiens, going scoreless while recording seven penalty minutes.

Ferland, 22, played in seven games with the Canadiens, and scored his first NHL goal in his first game on January 3rd against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Bell Centre. The 6'2'' 209-pound right-winger has collected nine points (five goals, four assists) and 47 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Bulldogs. He missed 23 games with a knee injury.

The Bulldogs next game will take place on Saturday, January 28, when the Rochester Americans visit Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:00 p.m. This game can be seen live on Hamilton's Cable 14.
