Travelers Come Back Late to Beat Riders

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders fell 2-1 to the Arkansas Travelers on Saturday night from Riders Field.

Frisco (54-40) struck first in the third when Josh Stowers tripled and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Miguel Aparicio to make it 1-0.

That score stayed until the eighth inning when the Travelers (51-44) came back with two runs off of Sal Mendez (4-3) and took the lead on a two-run single from Kaden Polcovich.

Devin Sweet (4-5) earned the win with two innings out of the bullpen for Arkansas.

In a no-decision, Zak Kent threw five shutout innings in his start, striking out seven batters.

The Riders and Travelers will meet on Sunday, August 22nd with the series finale beginning at 6:05 p.m. The RoughRiders have not announced a starter while RHP Levi Stoudt (1-0, 1.29) goes for Arkansas.
