Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
With Opening Day at Coca-Cola Park fast approaching, and the Tilghman Street Bridge project under way, the IronPigs would like to provide fans with an updated guide to help facilitate the quickest entry to Coca-Cola Park on gamedays.
The Tilghman Street Bridge project will reduce traffic at two of the three Coca-Cola Park entry points - Dauphin St. and Union Blvd. - and fans are encouraged to take advantage of the changing traffic patterns to get to the ballpark quicker and more efficiently. Entry at Union Blvd. or at Dauphin St. will likely provide for quicker entry into Coca-Cola Park and fans are encouraged to consider entry via either entrance.
Your best point of entry depends on where you're traveling from. Here's a quick guide to help on gameday:
FROM WEST/DOWNTOWN ALLENTOWN
Fans traveling eastbound from downtown Allentown across the Lehigh River on American Parkway are encouraged to use the Dauphin Street entrance. From American Parkway, turn right onto N. Bradford Street (the first traffic light after crossing the new American Parkway Bridge), then make a left onto N. Dauphin Street to enter the Coca-Cola Park parking areas. Fans traveling from Allentown may also consider using the Hamilton Street Bridge before turning left onto N. Graham Street or N. Irving Ave to access the 555 Union Blvd entrance.
FROM SOUTH/EAST/BETHLEHEM
Fans traveling from south or east of the ballpark are encouraged to use the Union Blvd. entrance, located at 555 Union Blvd. When traveling eastbound on Union, simply make a right onto Home Run Lane (555 Union Blvd). Traffic traveling from US 22 and north of the ballpark may find quicker entry by taking Airport Rd. South directly to Union Blvd. and making a right to access this entrance.
FROM NORTH/22
When traveling from north of Coca-Cola Park, fans can either make a continuous right onto American Parkway from Airport Rd., or continue south on Airport Road past American Parkway and utilize the Union Blvd. entrance (right hand turn onto Union Blvd off of Airport Road). From American Parkway, make a left onto IronPigs Way and follow the signs to various parking areas. Preferred Parking and Handicapped Parking is exclusively accessible through the IronPigs Way entry point accessible from American Parkway.
"We've noticed the entry points from Dauphin Street and Union Blvd. tend to be under-utilized on gamedays," said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. "With the Tilghman Street Bridge currently closed, it's more important than ever for us to remind our guests about the lesser-used entrances to Coca-Cola Park, and encourage them to take advantage during our upcoming season. As always, we encourage fans to arrive to the ballpark early to avoid any possible delays and the majority of the arriving traffic."
In addition to the IronPigs' normal parking staff and Fire/Police traffic personnel, members of the Allentown Police Department will be on-site Thursday and Friday to monitor traffic flow and help the Pigs accommodate traffic both before and after each game at Coca-Cola Park.
This Thursday's contest will offer fans their first chance to see an IronPigs game in 2018. Our Opening Night Party kicks off a seven-game homestand featuring six night games and a Sunday afternoon contest. All gates to the ballpark will open at 5 p.m. for tomorrow's home opener.
The 2018 Season is the IronPigs' 11th season at Coca-Cola Park and 11th as the top affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Fans can get closer to the team than ever before with a Bacon, USA membership -- a year-round IronPigs experience pass featuring numerous amenities such as savings on parking at games and at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Coca-Cola Park, on-field VIP access to watch batting practice, access to the annual holiday party, and more.
