TRASHERS PUMMEL KALAMAZOO 7-1

December 3, 2005

DANBURY, CT-Mike and Drew Omicioli combined for eight points and three goals, while Jayme Platt stifled the high-scoring Kalamazoo offense with a 27 save effort as Danbury blew out Kalamazoo 7-1 on Saturday night at the Danbury Ice Arena before a crowd of 2,206 fans.

For the first time since Brad Wingfield's season-ending injury as the result of a slewfooting incident from Josh Elzinga on December 1, 2004, both players stepped on the ice in the same game. Wingfield's night was again shortened, however it was after he was given a game misconduct after pummeling Elzinga repeatedly at the 7:13 mark of the first period.

The Trashers penalty kill highlighted the first as Kalamazoo was unsuccessful despite being on the power play for 11:32 of the period.

Danbury opened the second with a power play of their own, as Drew Omicioli's eighth of the season beat Joel Martin at the 2:10 mark. Danbury would add another at 9:35 as Shawn Collymore scored the first of two goals in the period.

Kalamazoo's lone goal was on the power play, scored by Joe Seroski at the 12:13 mark of the period, their only goal in 14 power play chances.

Danbury fired off three more goals to close the second, as Mike Omicioli, David Hymovitz and Collymore all scored to give Danbury a 5-1 lead after the second.

Carlyle Lewis netted the Trashers second power play goal of the night at the 5:32 mark, while Mike Omicioli scored another on the power play at 17:53 to cap the scoring.

Six players had multi-point games, led by the Omicioli's, who each had four points. Jamie Thompson added three assists, while Sergei Durdin helped on two. Hymovitz finished with one goal and one assist, while Collymore finished with a pair of goals.

Joel Martin stopped only 23 of 30 shots as he lost for the first time this season after posting nine wins. Platt is now 2-1-1 this season as Danbury lifts their record to 10-7-2 on the season.

TRASHERS COME FROM BEHIND TO DEFEAT ROANOKE VALLEY 4-3

December 2, 2005

DANBURY, CT--The Danbury Trashers defeated the Roanoke Valley Vipers 4-3 on Drew Omicioli's 7th goal of the season at the Danbury Ice Arena, in front of a crowd of 1,942. The Vipers jumped out to a quick 1-goal lead, as Petr Jelinek scored on Trashers netminder Sly Daigle just 2:26 into the game. Donny Grover and the Trashers answered back at 3:55, as Grover scored his 2nd of the season, for Brad Wingfield and Jean-Michel Daoust. Roanoke moved ahead 2-1 with David Beauregard's power-play goal from Josh Tataryn at 10:26.

The two teams scored just over a minute apart in the second period. Jaime Thompson scored short-handed on a pass from Sergi Durdin to tie the game at two, at 6:11. The Vipers scored 7:18 on the same power play as Jan Jas notched a goal from L.P. Martin.
