LAST WEEK'S GAMES: The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), traveled to Danbury, Connecticut on Friday to take on the second place Trashers, and to Glens Falls, New York on Saturday to take on the first place Adirondack Frostbite. Danbury scored at 6:11 of the second to even the score at 2-2, but Jan Jas gave the Vipers the lead once again with a goal off a pass from L.P. Martin at 7:18 of the period. Adirondack appeared to have taken control of the game early, scoring two consecutive first period goals at 3:27 and 15:05, taking the 2-goal lead with them into the locker room for the first intermission. Martin got the Vipers back within one before the period ended, scoring at the 10:30 mark to make it a 3-2 game. Petr Jelinek scored the game-tying goal just 58 seconds into the start of the third period, giving the Vipers hope. Both teams held on throughout the rest of the period, but at the 19:09 mark, Berry took the Vipers by surprise, scoring his second goal of the game and ultimately winning it for the Frostbite.
