
Mallards Set for Weekend in Michigan

Quad City Mallards News Release
Moline, IL-The Mallards head to Michigan this weekend to meet the Flint Generals and Motor City Mechanics. On Friday night, the team is at Perani Arena to meet their arch-rival, the Flint Generals. The Mallards make the short trip to Fraser, Michigan for a Saturday night showdown with Brent Gretzky and the Mechanics.
The Mallards stand second in the Western Division of the UHL. Last weekend, the team went 0-1-1 during a two-game road trip to Missouri. On Friday, the Mallards gained a standings point in a 5-4 shootout loss. Missouri beat Quad City 2-1 on Saturday night.

The Mallards journey to Flint for the third time this season on Friday night. It's the 86th all-time regular season meeting between the two teams. The Mallards hold a 49-27-9 record vs. Flint all-time including a 1-1-1 mark this year.
Saturday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m. central time vs. the Motor City Mechanics at The Garage
The Mallards meet Motor City for the fourth time this year on Saturday. Quad City beat Motor City twice at The MARK before losing the teams' first meeting in Fraser on November 19th.
The Mallards Pre-Game Show is on 25 minutes prior to face-off on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the Allstate Insurance Christy Cox Post-Game Show is on the air.

Friday, December 2nd -Mallards 4 at Missouri 5 - Shootout
The Missouri River Otters captured their first home win of the year with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Mallards on Friday night in St. Charles, Missouri. The Mallards fell behind 1-0 as Lars Pettersen scored the only goal of the first for the Otters. The Pettersen goal was assisted by Frank Littlejohn and Mallards nemesis Jim Duhart. Early in the second, the Otters stretched their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Frank Littlejohn. Just 43 seconds after Littlejohn's goal, Matt Radoslovich scored the first Mallards goal of the night to spark a second period comeback. Before the middle frame ended, the Mallards led 3-2 thanks to a power-play marker by Andrei Lupandin and a shorthanded tally by Patrick Nadeau. Nadeau's goal came with just 20 seconds left in the second and gave the Mallards the lead for the first time at 3-2. A wild third period saw Jim Duhart score twice in the first 3:43 before the Mallards answered back to tie the game with just 5:11 left. Duhart's pair, the first two of his Otters career, retook the lead for the Otters early in the third. The Mallards evened the game on Nadeau's second of the game at the 14:49 mark of the third. The teams skated scoreless for the final 5:11 before beginning the shootout. In the shootout, Missouri's Kevin Reiter shutout the Mallards while Damien Surma and Frank Littlejohn scored for the Otters.
Saturday, December 3rd - Mallards 1 at Missouri 2
The Mallards ended a two-game set at The Family Arena with a 2-1 loss to the Otters on Saturday night. Quad City fell behind 1-0 in the first on a goal by Missouri's Lars Pettersen as the period expired. The controversial goal came with the Mallards killing a penalty to Anthony Blumer and a delayed penalty assessed to Tom Galvin. In the second, the Mallards evened the game on a four-on-four goal by Chad Woollard. The game-tying marker was the 13th of the season for the veteran forward. The Otters retook the lead 2:31 later on a power-play goal by Tyler Butler. The Otter defenseman fired a shot through traffic to put his team in front 2-1. The teams skated scoreless through the third. Kevin Reiter stopped 24 Mallards shots on the night to earn his second consecutive win in the Missouri net.
Player of the Week
Patrick Nadeau is the Mallards nominee for the UHL Player of the Week. He scored twice on Friday night in Missouri and added an assist on Saturday.
Goalie of the Week
Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He stopped 17 shots on Friday and made 21 saves on Saturday.
