Training Camp Opens Friday; Preseason Rally Saturday

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls will officially open training camp for the 2005-06 season Friday at the Iceoplex, located in Escondido. All fans are invited to a preseason rally during Saturday's practice, which will also be held at the Iceoplex. The majority of the other workouts will be held at the San Diego Ice Arena in Mira Mesa.
San Diego's training camp schedule is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 7: 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (Escondido Iceoplex)
Saturday, Oct. 8: 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Escondido Iceoplex)*
Sunday, Oct. 9: 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. (Escondido Iceoplex) - scrimmage
Monday, Oct. 10: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (San Diego Ice Arena)
Tuesday, Oct. 11: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (San Diego Ice Arena)
Wednesday, Oct. 12: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (San Diego Ice Arena)
Thursday, Oct. 13: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (San Diego Ice Arena)
Friday, Oct. 14: 7:30 p.m. (Preseason game vs. Phoenix Roadrunners - San Diego Ice Arena)
Saturday, Oct. 15: 5 p.m. (Preseason game vs. Phoenix Roadrunners - San Diego Ice Arena)
Sunday, Oct. 16: 3:30 p.m. (Preseason game vs. Bakersfield Condors - San Diego Ice Arena)
Monday, Oct. 17: TBA
Tuesday, Oct. 18: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (San Diego Ice Arena)
*All fans are invited to the Gulls' annual preseason rally on Saturday. It will be an open practice and a 45-minute meet-and-greet autograph session will follow. For more information call 619-224-4625 ext. 7.
All other practices are open to both the media and public.
There has also been a special addition to the Saturday, Oct. 15 preseason contest against Phoenix. Immediately following the game, fans are invited to take the ice for a special edition of "Skate After the Gulls." Skate rentals will be free.
Tickets to each preseason game is $5 and can be purchased through the San Diego Ice Arena. To purchase tickets, contact the SDIA at 858-530-1825.
Any Gulls season ticket holder can purchase tickets for the first two games (Oct. 14 and Oct. 15) and get admission to the third game free (Oct. 16). This MUST be purchased through the Gulls' office by Friday. To take advantage of this special season ticket holder deal, contact 619-224-4625 ext. 7.
Seating for all three games will be on a first-come-first serve basis.

The Gulls open the regular season Friday, Oct. 21 in Alaska and open their home schedule Saturday, Nov. 5 against Stockton. Season ticket packages are currently on sale.
