Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen 2018 Training Camp continued Monday with a 3-on-3 Main Camp Tournament followed by a Young Guns Game, showcasing the top 15 and 16-year-olds. Below is a scoring recap of the Young Guns Game at the Kyle Stuart Memorial Arena at Edge School.
Young Guns Game: Team Boychuk 2 Team Jones 1 Sean Tschigerl, Calgary's first-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, broke a 1-1 tie to lift Team Boychuk to victory. Hayden Schmidt also found the back of the net for the winners who overcame a 1-0 deficit. Tristan Zandee provided the lone goal for Team Jones.
The Hitmen, who opened camp Friday with 73 returning players and prospects, have now trimmed their roster to 42.
The annual Intrasquad Game will once again act as the conclusion of camp tomorrow, Tuesday, August 28. The contest, which is free and open to the public, is a 12:00 p.m. start at the Kyle Stuart Memorial Arena.

Calgary opens the 2018 Western Hockey League pre-season at the Red Deer Tournament against the Kootenay ICE on Friday, August 31. The six-game schedule is highlighted by two local home dates including a charity game on Saturday, September 8 at the Carstairs Memorial Complex against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Puck drops at 7:08 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and will be available for purchase at the door or at the Carstairs Memorial Complex arena office beginning Monday, August 27. There will also be a special jersey auction and volunteers selling 50-50 tickets with all proceeds going to STARS Air Ambulance.
The Hitmen will then host the Kootenay ICE at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, September 15. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Starting at $7.99 for adults and $4.99 for children (plus applicable fees and taxes), tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office.
The 68-game regular season schedule begins on the road in Cranbrook against the Kootenay ICE on Saturday, September 22. The Hitmen home opening weekend begins on Saturday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Calgary returns to Scotiabank Saddledome ice the next day in a Sunday matinee, September 30, against the Red Deer Rebels. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
The 2018-19 Hitmen Hockey Pass is on sale now and includes 34 game tickets to be used anytime, in any combination. Pass holders also receive a $50 Scotiabank Saddledome gift card and a complimentary ticket to a select Flames, Roughnecks or Stampeders game. Passes start at less than $7 per ticket for kids and under $15 for adults.
