Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers are thrilled to announce the signing of 2018 1st Round CHL Import draft pick Mads Sogaard to a standard WHL Player Agreement.
"Mads is a big, flexible, fluid, lengthy goalie with a good head for the game. He has international playing experience with Denmark that will translate well to our league," said JF Martel, Goaltending Consultant.
The 6'7", 190 lbs goaltender from Aalborg, Denmark, is familiar with North America after playing last season for the Austin Bruins in the NAHL. Sogaard posted a 2.64 GAA and a .909 SV% in 22 games played.
During the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, Sogaard won the Denmark U17 DM Best Goaltender. He also boasts two bronze medals with the U18 WJC (D1A) team in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
"We are thrilled to add a goaltender of Mads' calibre to our team. We are excited about his future and we look forward to working with him. We would like to welcome Mads and his entire family to the Tigers organization," said Shaun Clouston, General Manager and Head Coach.
