Trading Card Giveaway And Spider-Man Featured This Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -It's a busy week in Condorstown, including some exciting promotions and a first place showdown with the Idaho Steelheads. On Wednesday, the Condors host the rival Alaska Aces for High School/College ID Night. Over the weekend, the Condors kick things off against the National Conference-leading Steelheads. Friday is Trading Card Giveaway - collectors set #3, and Saturday is Spider-man and Real Heroes Poster Giveaway. All three games begin at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

College and high school students, you can't get a better deal in pro sports than on Wednesday for High School/College ID Night, presented by My 45 and 106.1 KRAB Radio. Simply bring your valid school ID to the Rabobank Arena box office and you can purchase a lower level ticket for just $1, based on availability. Wednesday's first intermission will feature the North Kern Golf Cart Challenge. KRAB 106.1 Radio's Miranda Whitworth will try to beat the record time of 1-minute, 20-seconds, set earlier this season by the General of Shafter High School.

The Condors look to take the lead in the National Conference when they face off against the Idaho Steelheads for 29 Eyewitness News and US Army Trading Card Giveaway - collectors set #3. The first 3,000 fans will receive a strip of six cards, in this third set of five to be given throughout the season. This edition will include G Timo Pielmeier, D Eric Regan, F Mathieu Aubin, C Adam Naglich, RW Erick Lizon and LW Logan MacMillan. In case you missed out on sets #1 and #2, they can be purchased at the Condors Team Store, located on Truxtun avenue across from Rabobank Arena, or at the merchandise stands on the concourse at every Condors home game. Friday also marks Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian and Wells Fargo Kids Club Night. All members receive free admission by showing their Kids Club badge at the box office.

Bakersfield will have their first look this season at former Condor Mark Derlago, now playing for the Steelheads, and will have the chance to win a 2008-09 game-worn Derlago Condors jersey at Friday's game by purchasing $1 raffle tickets, sold throughout the game on the concourse. Plus, US Army recruits will be sworn in during the first intermission.

The Condors host Spider-man and Real Heroes Poster Giveaway, presented by My 45, 106.1 KRAB and Three Way Automotive Group. The web-slinger will be available for pictures, prior to the game and during the intermissions. Plus, all fans in attendance will receive a Condors Real Heroes poster, featuring LW Shawn Weller, F Stephane Goulet, G Timo Pielmeier, D Mark Mitera and F Andrew Ianiero. Spider-man himself and some of his Superhero friends are also featured on the poster.

All fans with a ticket to Saturday's game are eligible to watch the 5th Annual Guns and Hoses Hockey Game, between local police and firefighters. The game will take place on the Rabobank Arena ice from 3-4 p.m. Fans can also check out the Bakersfield Police Department patrol car and Hall ambulance on display on the plaza, outside Rabobank Arena.

Following every game, Condors players will be at the Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. F Ryan Donally and G Josh Johnson will be at the booth on Wednesday, C Adam Naglich and RW Erick Lizon will be signing on Friday, while F Stephane Goulet and D Mark Mitera will be available on Saturday. The players will arrive at the booth approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game to meet fans and sign autographs.
