ROSTER UPDATE:

G Josh Johnson was placed on 3-IR today and former Condor G Joe Watkins was added as Emergency Back-Up Goaltender. Watkins played 32 games with the Condors in 2003-04, compiling a 3.17 GAA and a 9-15-5 record, with one shutout... D Raymond Eichenlaub was activated from 3-IR today... D Bobby Davey was acquired by the Condors from Stockton for future considerations on Jan. 21... Also on Jan. 21, D Eric Regan was reassigned by the Anaheim Ducks to the Condors, from San Antonio (AHL), and D Sasha Pokulok signed a Professional Try-Out contract (PTO) with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League.

THE MATCHUP:

The Condors and Aces meet for the sixth time this season, but the first since Nov. 22. In the next 11 days, they will wrap up the nine-game season series, with a three-game trip to Anchorage next week. Bakersfield took one of two games in Alaska in early November, and then rolled to a three-game sweep of the Aces at Rabobank Arena - with RW Dan Sexton recording three points in each game of the weekend, his final games as a Condor - later that month. Three of the five meetings so far have been decided by three or more goals, and despite going 4-1-0 so far, the Condors have only outscored Alaska 21-17.

CONDORS NOTES:

Bakersfield has the ECHL's best home record (15-4-0,.789) and have just two home losses since Oct. 30... Sunday's game was the first victory by Bakersfield by three or more goals since a 4-1 win over Vegas on Nov. 27... The Condors have surrendered only three power play goals in the last seven games (90.6%)... When leading or tied after the first period, the Condors are 19-2-2... Bakersfield is 11-5-1 against the West Division, including 6-2-0 at home. Their next six games will be against either Alaska or Victoria, two West Division clubs... C Gino Guyer needs two points for 100 in his professional career. He spent parts of two seasons with Alaska from 2006-08... F Andrew Ianiero is playing in his 500th professional game tonight, all in the ECHL with Bakersfield, Texas and Augusta. He is the 28th player to reach 500 ECHL games in his career.
