Stingrays Add Bartlett And Fredricks

North Charleston, SC - The Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays announced today that forward Scott Bartlett and defenseman Jason Fredricks have signed with the team. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Bartlett, 24, joins the Stingrays after playing in eight games with the Rapid City Rush of the CHL and 16 games with Trenton Devils of the ECHL. The Pittsford, NY native earned one point (1a) with the Rush and three goals with the Devils. Prior to turning pro, Bartlett skated for four seasons with the Middlebury College Panthers totaling 53 points (24g, 29a) in 104 games. Bartlett led the Panthers to the NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Championships three times, winning twice in 2005 and 2006. He also served has team captain his senior season.

Fredricks, 23, appeared in five games with the Providence Bruins of the AHL last season registering no points and two penalty minutes. Before joining the Bruins, Fredricks spent four seasons with Colgate University earning 41 points (10g, 31a) in 149 games. During his senior season, the Eagle River, WI native scored a career-high 16 points, including a personal-best five goals in 37 games.

The Stingrays head out on a seven-game road trip starting Friday, January 29 against the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. at U.S. Bank Arena.
