Tracking Andy": Independent Television Series Shoots On-Location at GCS Ballpark

Gateway Grizzlies News Release
(St. Louis, MO/Sauget, IL - August 21st, 2008) -- "Tracking Andy", an independent television series, is shooting its pilot episode on location at GCS Ballpark. The filming will take place Friday, August 22nd during the Grizzlies 7:05 p.m. game with the Midwest Sliders.
The show, aimed at the mom-and-me set, centers on a flight attendant named "Andy" (Show Host/Executive Producer, Andy W. Meyer), and his excursions to selected cities to search out the best attractions and most unique things for kids to do. Besides his qualifications as a real-life flight attendant (also named Andy!), Meyer also brings experience in several facets of entertainment including work with Anheuser-Busch Productions and the Golf Channel.
"I'm excited to be doing the pilot episode in and around the Gateway to the West", said Meyer. "We're going to have access to places like the City Museum, the Magic House, Grant's Farm, Gateway International Racetrack and on the baseball diamond with the Gateway Grizzlies. The opportunities we've gained by working closely with the Missouri State Film Commission have been incredible."
"Tracking Andy" re-teams Meyer with the Los Angeles based duo of Ben Karson (Co-Executive Producer/Director) and Lonny Zion (Producer). Meyer had recently been brought on board as Associate Producer for "My Dad", an independent feature film shot on location in St. Louis. The dark comedy was written and directed by Zion, and produced by Karson.
"It's a pleasure, both to get back to the Midwest and to be shooting again with Andy," said Karson of the city and Meyer. "We started talking about other projects almost immediately after meeting. It was obvious we both had the desire to be a part of the creative world for the right reason - a passion to share." Zion has long had roots in the Midwest. He is a native of Champaign, Illinois and is a graduate of Washington University, garnering degrees in both business and film. From there, he moved on to receive a Masters Degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, where he met Karson.
The group looks to have "Tracking Andy" distributed in a variety of methods, including syndicating to many outlets such as cable nets, in-flight entertainment, VOD, public television -even mobile educational devices and schools.
Look for a strong online synergy around the show as well. Both Meyer and Karson have extensive backgrounds in marketing and New Media, including work for brands like Nissan and Red Bull. Add in experience with social networking, video communities, and educational devices, and you can expect a robust portfolio of interactive content centered around the locations visited on the show. Offerings will include items such as online lesson plans about cities for teachers to use in schools, and podcasts for you and the kids to check out on car ride to a new city. User generated content will also play an important role with reviews from other members, lesson plans uploaded by other teachers and insights from local community residents also available.
