
Tour For The Cure to appear at Appalachian Power Park

CHARLESTON, WV (August 30, 2006) - The West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers have announced that the "Tour For The Cure" Campaign will make an appearance at Appalachian Power Park on Thursday, August 31.
The "Tour For The Cure" Campaign is led by Cass Sapir who is on a mission to make it to every major and minor league ballpark this season in an effort to raise money for The Jimmy Fund for children's cancer research.
The trip has most recently been chronicled on ESPN and the New York Times. The website at www.tourforthecure.org includes more information on the cause including stories, photos and an interactive map of the trip.
The West Virginia Power will raffle off memorabilia on Thursday night to help raise money for the campaign.
The Power will begin a three game series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at Appalachian Power Park on Wednesday night. Right hander Joel Fountain (0-0, 0.00) will make the start for Greensboro and the Power will counter with right hander Shawn Ferguson (2-2, 6.68). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
