Austin, TX Feb. 12, 2011 - The Austin Toros defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 105-99 Saturday at the Cedar Park Center. Lance Thomas led the Toros in scoring with 19 points and was one of six Toros players who scored in the double-digits.

The start of the first quarter began with a Vipers 5-0 run in the first minutes of the game. The Toros quickly responded by shooting 53 percent from the field and ended the first quarter with a 25-21 lead. The Toros maintained their momentum throughout the second quarter with the help of Lance Thomas and Kevin Palmer, who combined for 23 first half points. The Toros led the Vipers 53-50 at halftime.

The Toros started the third quarter on fire behind the arc completing five of six three-point attempts. Jerel McNeal kept the Vipers in contention by scoring ten points in the third quarter. The Vipers were able to cut the Toros lead to two with 6:17 left to play in the fourth, but were unable to recapture the lead. Cardell "Squeaky" Johnson made three crucial free-throws with less than a minute to play to seal the game.

Kevin Palmer, Aubrey Coleman and James Anderson all scored 15 points following Thomas' 19 to round out the Toros leader board. Jerel McNeal led the Vipers and all scorers with 28 points and was followed by Jeff Adrien who recorded his 15th double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
