Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 1-2-0-0 in three games this past week. In their first game of the week, Toronto was defeated 5-1 by the Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. Peter Holland tallied the lone Toronto goal, while Garret Sparks took the loss. The Marlies returned home on Saturday afternoon where they fell to the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 4-3. Josh Leivo tallied two goals while Carter Ashton added two assists. Christopher Gibson made 39 saves in the loss.

On Sunday afternoon, Toronto defeated Utica by a score of 3-2 to clinch their third consecutive North Division title. Sam Carrick scored two goals including the game winning marker at 7:40 of the third period. Garret Sparks stopped 23 shots in the win.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will take to the ice for three games this coming week.

On Friday night, Toronto travels to Rochester for a 7:05 p.m. game.

The Marlies have a 4-3-0-1 record against the Amerks so far this season. Phil Varone leads Rochester in scoring with 55 points (16 goals, 39 assists).

The Marlies will take on the Syracuse Crunch, AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Brett Connolly leads the Crunch in scoring with 50 points (19 goals, 31 assists). In their third game in as many days, Toronto travels to Pennsylvania for a 4:05 p.m. game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tom Kostopoulos leads the Penguins in scoring with 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists) in 68 games.
