
Sylvester Recalled from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that goaltender Eric Hartzell has been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins. In addition, forward Cody Sylvester has been recalled from loan to Wheeling.
Sylvester has posted two goals and 18 penalty minutes in 17 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and scored in his AHL debut on Nov. 20 at Rochester. The 21-year old currently leads the Nailers with 24 goals, while also recording 18 assists, 44 PIM and a +19 rating over 49 contests.
Originally from Vernon, British Columbia, Sylvester played five seasons with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (2008-13) and totaled 229 points (97g-132a) in 315 games.
Hartzell, 24, has won his last five starts for Wheeling to run his ECHL record to 8-4-1 with a 2.91 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The rookie netminder has gone 10-8-1 this year for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.48 goals against average, a .901 save percentage and three shutouts.
In four seasons at Quinnipiac University, the native of White Bear, Minnesota posted a career record of 58-27-17 with a 1.96 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 106 games.
The Penguins travel to Syracuse on Friday, April 11 to battle the Crunch at 7:00pm.
