Johan Sundstrom Recalled by Islanders

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (April 9, 2014) - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Johan Sundstrom has been recalled on emergency basis from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL).

Sundstrom, 21, was returned to the Sound Tigers Monday after he played in 10 games with the Islanders. He picked up his first career point with an assist on March 23 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 38 AHL games this season, the Gothenburg, Sweden, native has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists). The Islanders selected Sundstrom in the second round (50th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
