Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled RHP TODD REDMOND from the Bisons and selected the contracts of both RHP NEIL WAGNER and LHP JUAN PEREZ from Buffalo.
The Blue Jays announced that RHP THAD WEBER has been optioned to the Bisons.
Wagner has served as the Bisons closer for the first two months of the season and is a perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities in 2013. His 13 saves are 2nd-most in the International League. Overall, Wagner is 1-0 with a 0.89 ERA in 19 outings (20.1 IP, 32 SO). He has pitched 16 consecutive scoreless outings since April 17 (17.1 IP, 21 SO) and has allowed just two of 16 inherited runners to score (13%). On the season, right-handed hitters have averaged just .095 (4-42) with no extra-base hits against Wagner.
Perez is 2-1 with a 0.86 ERA and three saves in 17 outings with the Bisons. The southpaw has made nine consecutive scoreless appearances with the Bisons since May 3 (12.2 IP, 13 SO) and has yielded a run in just two of his 17 appearances on the season. Perez has held left-handed batters hitless in 19 at-bats this year (1 BB, 7 SO).
Redmond has made two appearances with the Bisons this season, going 1-0 with a 9.53 ERA in 5.2 innings of work (7 SO). The veteran earned his first victory with the team with 2.1 innings of relief in Saturday's 2-1 win over Indianapolis. Redmond missed the first 41 games on the Bisons disabled list with right shoulder impingement.
Weber has pitched in one game for the Bisons this year, throwing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief on May 21. He pitched in three games with the Blue Jays and was 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA.
