The Capitales struck first for the second straight night. Catcher Greg Stevens lined a wind-blown solo homer to left in the 2nd inning off Worcester starter Junior Guerrero to make it 1-0, Quebec. The Capitales would add another run in the inning when Luis Sabino lost a routine Goefrey Tomlinson fly ball to center in the twilight, and led 2-0 after two innings.
Once again, the Tornadoes bats were silent in hte early innings, this time against Quebec righty Karl Gelinas. But Worcester finally broke through in the 4th. A one-out Sabino double and three straight hits after two were out tied the game at 2-2. Andrew Wishy and Yohanny Valera picked up the two RBIs with consecutive singles.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the 8th inning. Guerrero went 5 strong innings and Chris Shank tossed 2 scoreless frames before righy John Birtwell (0-1) took over to start the 8th.
