American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(NASHUA, NH, May 25, 2007) The Nashua Pride has announced that former Red Sox standout pitcher Rich "El Guapo" Garces will be arriving from Venezuela tonight in time for tonight's 7:05 game. After experiencing visa delays, Pride closer "El Guapo" will finally join his new teammates in Nashua. Garces, who has been training rigorously on his own, will be ready to pitch, as the closer, this weekend for the Pride.

The 6-foot 250-pounder played for the Minnesota Twins (1990, 1993), Chicago Cubs (1995), Florida Marlins (1995) and the Boston Red Sox (1996-2002). El Guapo was voted second most beloved Red Sox reliever since 1967 in a recent Boston Dirt Dogs poll on www.BostonDirtDogs.com.

The Pride continues its opening weekend with three games remaining with the North Shore Spirit starting tonight at 7:05 at Historic Holman Stadium.

The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its tenth anniversary season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The Pride is participating in its second year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball.
