In the first at-bat of the season for the Brockton Rox, CF Joe Hough gave his team a 1-0 lead on a solo homerun over the left field wall. For four more innings the Rox held onto that lead, but Cutters 2B Matt Mercurio batted in DH Kevin Whiteside to tie the game at 1 a-piece in the sixth inning. But the Rox got three runs over the seventh and eighth innings to take a 4-1 lead that, after Rox closer Ryan Burnau retired the side in the ninth, became the final score. Brockton starting pitcher Mike McTamney pitched six impressive innings with one run allowed on five hits with seven strikeouts, but did not factor in the decision.

Quebec 6, Worcester 2

The Capitales left 14 runners on base Friday but managed to win anyway against Worcester. Quebec RF Corey Stang went 3-for-3 on the night, managing to score once, while his teammate LF Mike Galloway also had an impressive night, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. The game was tied entering the eighth, but the Capitales used five hits to score four runs in the inning to take a commanding lead. Quebec reliever TJ Stanton entered in the top of the ninth and promptly sat down three straight batters to finish off the Tornadoes. Neither starting pitcher picked up a decision as each left the game when it was tied. Quebec starter Karl Gelinas pitched six innings and allowed two runs on six hits while striking out two.

Nashua 3, North Shore 2

The North Shore Spirit took a brief lead in the top of the sixth thanks to a Mike Torres two-run double but Nashua used an Olmo Rosario sacrifice fly to tie it up in the bottom of the frame. With the score tied after 8.5 innings, Pride 1B Bryan Duplissee knocked in the winning run on a game-winning RBI fielder's choice ball. The Pride got only four hits on the night but took advantage of three Spirit errors to pick up their first win of the season. Pride starting pitcher Akira Okamoto did not pick up a decision after pitching five shut-out innings in which he allowed only four hits and struck out an impressive nine batters.

Atlantic City 10, Grays 9

The fourth was the only scoreless inning in what was anything but a pitchers' duel in Atlantic City. The Grays took an early lead with three first-inning runs but after two innings the Surf led 6-5. Trailing 10-7 entering the 9th, the Grays nearly pulled off a tremendous comeback but fell just short after scoring two runs to come within one run of tying the game. Surf CF Lucas Taylor was nearly perfect on the night, going 3-for-4 and scoring three runs with one RBI. For the Grays SS Mike Pierre went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Despite allowing two runs in the ninth, Surf closer Matt Pike earned his second save in as many opportunities.

New Jersey 14, Sussex 4

New Jersey used an emphatic win over Sussex to remain undefeated on the season. The Jackals got a strong performance from starting pitcher Ben Thurmond, who pitched six innings and allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts. On offense, New Jersey 2B Zach Smithlin went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored. Jackals C Matt Lauderdale and LF Jud Thigpen each crossed home plate three times in the game. A bright spot for the Skyhawks was the 4-for-5 performance of CF Ron Perodin. New Jersey busted the game wide open in the seventh inning, scoring eight runs on eight hits.
