June 27, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane Chiefs forward Luke Toporowski is competing at USA Hockey's Select 17 Player Development Camp in Amherst, N.Y. this week, looking to impress scouts and earn a chance to represent the United States in international play.
Toporowski, who scored 10 goals and 23 points as a rookie 16-year-old for the Chiefs last season, is playing for Team Columbia at the camp, which runs through July 2 in Amherst. He has participated in USA Hockey Select 15 and Select 16 camps previously. Chiefs teammates Kailer Yamamoto and Jake McGrew competed at the same camp in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Joining him at this year's camp is Spokane listed player and bantam draft pick Jake Hale of Minnesota, playing for Team Forest.
Toporowski was the Chiefs' first round (eighth overall) pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
