Regina Pats News Release
Regina, SK - The Regina Pats Community Foundation (RPCF) is pleased to announce a $100,000 donation to the Memorial Cup Charities of Choice. Kidsport and the Soldier On Program will each receive $50,000 from 50/50 sales at the 100th Mastercard Memorial Cup.
"On behalf of the Foundation's Board of Directors, we are very pleased to make these donations," said RPCF Board Chair Dion Tchorzewski. "Kidsport and Soldier On are important charities that engage kids in sports and help current and retired military members deal with physical and mental injuries as a result of their service to our country."
The two biggest nights for gross sales included the May 17, Opening Ceremony Eagles Concert $60, 910, and the May 27 Championship Game $59,686.
"The amazing support from the Regina Pats Community Foundation allows kids to play their passion, learn respect, make lifelong friendships and to dream of championships like the Memorial Cup. Thank you for helping kids dream," said Tammy Hoffart Kidsport Community Consultant.
"Soldier On is humbled by this generous support from the RPCF. Amplifying the rich military history of the Memorial Cup and Regina Pats, this incredible donation is a testament of continued support to those men and women who have received an illness or injury while in service to Canada. It also serves as an inspiration and an illustration that those who have sacrificed need not recover alone. Thank you," said Maj. (ret.) Jay Fenko, Senior Manager Solider On.
