
Oil Kings Name Brad Lauer as Head Coach

(Edmonton, AB) - President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Kirt Hill, announced today the Edmonton Oil Kings have hired Brad Lauer as Head Coach.
Lauer, 51, brings with him 15 years of coaching experience, most recently serving as an assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) for the past three seasons. In 2017-18 he helped coach the Lightning to a 113-point season and first place in the Atlantic Division.
Prior to joining the Lightning, Lauer served as an assistant coach for six seasons with the Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators. He also served as assistant coach for three seasons with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Syracuse Crunch and Milwaukee Admirals and the Western Hockey League's (WHL) Kootenay Ice from 2002-07.
The Humboldt, SK native played in 323 career NHL games as a left-winger with the New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins, putting up 111 points (44G, 67A). Lauer was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1985 NHL Draft selected 34thoverall (2ndround).
Brad, his wife Daria and two daughters, Camryn and Addison look forward to relocating to Edmonton this summer.
