'Topes And Royals Rained Out

April 26, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

For the second time in four days the Albuquerque Isotopes (9-8) had a game washed away by rain as Monday's tilt between the 'Topes and Omaha Royals (8-10) has been postponed due to wet and cold conditions at Rosenblatt Stadium. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on July 9 at 4:30 PM MT during the Isotopes' next visit to Omaha.

The weather system that has been wreaking havoc across the Midwest all weekend has lingered over Nebraska, dropping freezing rain all afternoon. Last Friday, heavy rains caused the postponement of the Isotopes' series-ending game against New Orleans at Zephyr Field.

Albuquerque will wrap up its stay in Omaha tomorrow with some morning baseball at the 'Blatt. Right-hander Josh Towers (1-2, 4.24) will make the start for the Isotopes against O-Royals righty Andrew Lerew (1-2, 3.86) with first pitch slated for 10:05 PM MT. All the action can be heard on 1050 AM KTBL.

After one more games in Omaha, the 'Topes return home this Thursday for a four-game set against the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. On-tap for the short homestand is an Isotopes hat giveaway and the first post-game fireworks show of the season. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com .
