April 26, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Nashville Sounds News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Historic Greer Stadium this Thursday, April 29 to open a four-game homestand against the 2009 PCL Champion and division-rival Memphis Redbirds (AAA-Cardinals).

Highlighting the homestand's promotions will be a postgame fireworks show, Taco Bell Throwback Thursday, two Reading Club Nights, and Autograph Day.

Thursday's 7:05 p.m. homestand opener is Taco Bell Throwback Thursday. The Sounds will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms, while fans have the opportunity to enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2 beer, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $2 nachos. College students also receive a $5 General Admission ticket with a college ID. Gates open at 5:35 p.m.

The second game of the four-game series with the Redbirds on Friday should be another exciting night at the ballpark because of Reading Club Night. With nearly 90,000 students from over 300 different schools enrolled in the program, thousands of local kids will be in attendance. As with all Reading Club games, students will have the chance to participate in an on-field, pre-game parade with Ozzie, while also being eligible to win prizes for reaching "home plate" in the program. Game time is 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 5:35 p.m.

Saturday's 6:35 game with the Redbirds will offer another chance for kids to win prizes, as it's the second Reading Club game of the homestand. It is also a Great Clips Charity Cuts night, where fans can receive haircuts on the Watson's Family Leisure Deck in right field for a minimum $5 contribution to The Children's Miracle Network. Combined with postgame fireworks, Saturday is another can't miss night at the ballpark with the Nashville Sounds! Gates open at 5:05 p.m.

Sunday afternoon's 2:05 p.m. homestand finale is a Purity Sundae Sunday, with $1 ice cream sundaes at Greer Stadium. It is also Autograph Day, where a pre-game autograph session will take place on field with members of the Sounds team and coaching staff. Gates open at 12:35 p.m.

Nashville won last year's sixteen-game season series against Memphis, 10-6, including taking six of eight contests at Greer. Grabbing the American Northern division-lead from the Sounds late last year, the Redbirds advanced to the playoffs and swept both the Albuquerque Isotopes and Sacramento River Cats on their way to being crowned PCL Champions.

Following the homestand, Nashville begins an eight-game road trip to face the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros), and Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA-Dodgers) before returning to Greer Stadium on May 11 to open an eight-game homestand with the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA-Mariners) and Portland Beavers (AAA-Padres) of the Pacific Northern Division for their lone visit to Music City in 2010.

Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call (615) 690-HITS ext. 2 or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
