Iowa Cubs News Release

Des Moines, IA - Iowa Cubs outfielder Brad Snyder has been named the Pacific Coast League's Batter of the Week for April 19-25, the league office announced today. The award marks Snyder's first as a member of the Cubs organization and first since he was tabbed as the Eastern League Player of the Week in August 2005 as a member of the Akron Aeros.

For the week of April 19-25, Snyder hit .480 (12-for25) with three doubles, three home runs, five runs scored and seven RBIs in six games. During that span, his average and six total extra-base hits were tops in the PCL and he was tied for first in hits, doubles and homers.

Snyder quickly turned around his slow start to the season (1-for-18) and is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak for Iowa, the longest streak for the Cubs this season.
