Tonight's fireworks postponed, game still on
June 2, 2006 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release
Tonight's Fireworks show scheduled to follow the Hagerstown Suns game this evening has been postponed. The possibility of strong winds coupled with a chance of rain at the expected time of tonight's post-game show led to the decision to postpone.
The fireworks will be rescheduled for likely either August 13th or September 3rd. Please check back to the Suns website promotional calendar at www.hagerstownsuns.com for more information at a later date.
Tonight's game versus the Lexington Legends is still on and scheduled to begin play at 6:35pm, however.
After this evening's game, the Suns will continue their series with Lexington on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will feature a doubleheader with game 1 beginning in the bottom of the 1st inning where yesterday's game left off before being suspended due to weather. At the completion of game 1, there will be a twenty minute intermission followed by a seven inning game to cap the doubleheader. Saturday's game features a number of promotions including a Chair Left Giveaway, courtesy of Equipped for Life, and the annual Scout Night Sleepover.
Sunday's game on June 4th (start time 1:35pm) features the Suns annual "Dog Days of Summer" promotion, presented by the Park Circle Animal Hospital and Smithsburg Veterinary Clinic. All fans are invited to bring their pooch to the park and participate in a number of dog-themed promotions. Of course, all Sundays also feature the pre-game Suns Story Time for age 1-7, the "Suns on Sundays" autograph session, post-game Kids Run the Bases, Ice Cream Sundays with a free ice cream cone coupon and the Family Sundays promotion where families can purchase 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas and 4 popcorns for just $25 with a Herald-Mail coupon printed in Saturday or Sunday's newspaper.
