Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC - Kannapolis (12-41) lost 6-2 to Greenville (28-26) in the second meeting of a four game series at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, Friday evening. Kannapolis took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning. The Intimidators picked up an RBI single from Leo Acosta to score Brandon Allen, and then an RBI triple motored out by Brandon Johnson, which scored Acosta in the inning. The lead was short lived as Greenville rebounded for 3 runs in the 3rd off I's SP Ricky Brooks. Brooks wound up taking the loss (3-5), by allowing 5 ER in 7 IP, while striking out 6. The Intimidators failed to score after the 2nd against Drive SP Kevin Guyette. Guyette picked up the win (4-2) with 5 IP, allowing 2 ER and striking out 7 batters. Meanwhile, Drive RP Hunter Jones cruised through 4 innings of scoreless ball, to pick up his 3rd save of the season.
Kannapolis tries to rebound Saturday against Greenville. Intimidators RHP Ryan Rote faces Greenville's RHP Chris Jones. The first pitch from Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium is at 7:05.
