Cannon Ballers Update on Opening Weekend Fireworks

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Due to the statewide burn ban currently in effect across North Carolina, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers will be unable to conduct fireworks shows on Opening Night, Friday, or Saturday as originally scheduled.
The Cannon Ballers worked closely with local officials and public safety partners to explore all possible options to safely move forward. However, the statewide order does not allow for exceptions, and the decision was made with the safety of our community as the top priority.
We understand how much fireworks are a part of the Opening Weekend tradition, and we share in the disappointment of our fans. While this adjustment is unfortunate, our focus remains on delivering a fun, memorable, and energetic start to the season at Atrium Health Ballpark. To further enhance the fan experience throughout the weekend, the Cannon Ballers are excited to announce the following postgame activities have been added to the schedule:
Friday Night (7:00 p.m.): Postgame Kids Run the Bases - All kids in attendance are invited to head down to the field and take an unforgettable lap around the bases.
Saturday Night (7:00 p.m.): Postgame Catch on the Field - Fans of all ages re invited play catch in the outfield and cap off a memorable gameday experience.
Our hope is that the burn ban will be lifted soon, allowing us to resume fireworks shows next weekend, while continuing to respect the broader safety concerns impacting communities across the state.
Opening Weekend will still be filled with the energy, excitement, and entertainment that Cannon Ballers fans expect. From the first pitch to the final out, we're ready to kick off the season together - and even without fireworks, we're still going to Have a Blast!
