Wilson Warbirds and First Media Radio Group Announce Broadcast Agreement

WILSON, N.C. - The Wilson Warbirds and First Media Radio Group announced today a partnership in which 99.3 The Beach (WZAX-FM) will serve as the flagship station of the Warbirds Radio Network.

With the announcement, 99.3 The Beach will air all 66 Warbirds home games and any postseason games along with special Warbirds programming and interviews across the First Media Radio Group family of stations.

"We are thrilled to have First Media Radio Group and 99.3 The Beach serve as the flagship station for all Warbirds home games." said David Lawrence, Warbirds General Manger/Vice President - Business Development and Operations.

"Our goal is for our entire organization to be the best in class and having our games on radio is another step in providing our fans with another opportunity to engage with our team and organization."

The Warbirds will be the only team in the Carolina League this season to air their games on terrestrial radio.

"For more than 105 years, baseball has been heard on the radio. Now, 99.3 The Beach is proud to bring all Wilson Warbirds home games to the local airwaves. This announcement completes our mission to be the soundtrack of your summer. Carolina Beach Music and baseball provides the community a winning combination." said Kevin Bullock, Vice President of First Media Radio Group.

Chris Edwards will serve as the "Voice of the Warbirds" for the team's inaugural season, serving as primary play-by-play for all 66 Warbirds home games.

All Warbirds home games will also be streamed for free on the team's web site, on the TuenIn Radio App and a video broadcast which available on a subscription basis via Bally SportsLive.
