Toledo Walleye News Release

Walleye Notes

- Back into the Win Column! A two goal outburst in the third period Sunday propelled the Walleye to its seventh win of the season by defeating Cincinnati 4-3. The win snapped a four game winless streak for Toledo.

- Power Play Continues to Shine! Toledo's power play stuck for two goals in eleven chances over the two games against Cincinnati this weekend. Only three times in the first fifteen games has the Walleye power play been held off the score sheet.

- Robertson Goes for Two! Forward Chris Robertson busted out Sunday with a two goal game. It was Chris's first two goals of the year. His first goal was a shorthanded goal at 12:10 of the second period. It was the third shorthanded goal scored by a Toledo player this season (Jamie Milam and Dominic Osman).

- Nesbitt by Bit! Forward Derek Nesbitt, playing in his first Walleye game this season, collected back to back goals late in the third period of Friday's game. Unfortunately for Derek, he also suffered an injury late in that game and missed Sunday's contest.

- Rake them in Rankin! Forward Evan Rankin collected his team-leading seventh goal of the season Sunday. It was his third power play goal of the year.

- The Captain also Strikes! Walleye Captain Ryan Stokes also scored in the game on Sunday. It was his third goal of the season, and it closes him to within one goal of tying his career mark for goals (4 with Rockford in 2007-08).

- Fan-tastic! For the season, 55.884 fans have passed through the turnstiles at the new Lucas County Arena for an average of 6,209.

On the Hook

- Gametime! Next up for Toledo it's a return to action against the ECHL South Division as the Florida Everblades and the defending Kelly Cup Champions South Carolina Stingrays will be in town. Toledo has played Florida six times this season and has a record of 2-2-1-1 against the Everblades. All-Time Toledo is 2-3-1-1 against Florida. This will be the first time this season that Toledo will match up with the Stingrays. South Carolina has won all five of the previous games all-time with Toledo.

- Promotions! Friday night features a food drive where all fans attending are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game, and there is a post-game party in the Aquarium that night. Sunday features another "Kids Day" with a post-game skate following the game. Kid's day also features "Design a Sign" and Dora the Explorer will also be on hand.

Chris put a bow on the Sunday win with his first two goals as a Walleye.

Walleye Goaltender of the Week: Billy Sauer (1-0-0, 3.00 gaa,.923 save %)

Billy was tremendous in his Walleye debut, stopping 36 of 39 Cyclones shots in Sunday's game.
