Florida Everblades News Release


The Florida Everblades and Reading Royals skated against each other for three games this week in Southwest Florida. Reading took the first two games in Germain Arena, 5-3 and 5-2 respectively. Florida rebounded last Saturday night blanking the Royals for the first time this season as Chris Beckford-Tseu recorded his league-leading second shutout of the season.

The Everblades embark on a seven-game road trip over the next two weeks. The Everblades will battle every team in the North Division over that span. Florida will tangle with Wheeling in a pre-turkey day game on Wednesday, November 25. The 'Blades will then travel down the road to Toledo to face the Walleye on Friday night. Florida will finish the week with back-to-back games in Kalamazoo on Saturday and Sunday.

LAST WEEK

Wednesday, November 18 vs Reading Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: In the first meeting of five this season the Reading Royals ended the Everblades three-game win streak with a 5-3 win. Reading netminder Andrew Engelage stopped 38 shots and Daniel Steiner posted a goal and three assists for the victorious Royals. Everblades defenseman Scott Hotham chipped in three assists while Jacob Micflikier tallied a goal and an assist in the contest.

Friday, November 20 vs Reading Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Reading downed Florida for the second consecutive time posting a 5-2 victory. Goaltender Matt Dalton stopped 42 Everblade shots in the victory. Daniel Steiner posted his second consecutive multiple-point game (1g, 2a) for Reading in the win. Forwards Matt Caria and Ross Carlson tallied goals for the Everblades.

Saturday, November 21 vs Reading Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades salvaged the week with their lone win on Saturday. The Everblades dominated the Royals behind a 33-save shutout performance by goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu. The shutout was the second for Beckford-Tseu this season and first for the Blades at Germain Arena. Forward Steve McJannet tallied his first goal of the season which was the game winner while Colin Nicholson chipped in two assists for the victorious Everblades.

THIS WEEK

Wednesday, November 25 @ Wheeling Wes Banco Arena 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the only meeting between the Everblades and Nailers in Wheeling, West Virginia this season. The Nailers will travel to Southwest Florida on December 16, 18 and 19 to finish off the four-game season series.

Friday, November 27 @ Toledo Lucas County Arena 7:00PM

GAME NOTES: This contest marks the seventh battle between these two clubs. The Everblades swept the Walleye in three games in early November in Southwest Florida to improve their record to 4-1-1 this season. Florida has posted a 1-1-1 mark in Toledo's Lucas County Arena this season. After this game, the Everblades and Walleye will meet one more time to complete the season series.

Saturday, November 28 @ Kalamazoo Wings Stadium 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Tonight marks the first-ever meeting between the Wings and the Everblades. Florida will battle Kalamazoo twice on this road trip and meet three times in February of 2010 in Germain Arena in Florida.

Sunday, November 29 @ Kalamazoo Wings Stadium 4:00PM

GAME NOTES: The K-Wings are led by forward Rick Cleaver who has posted eight goals and 19 points with a +7 rating in just 12 games played. Forward Mathieu Curedeau leads the club with three game winning goals. The Wings are 5-2-0 at home and 11-2-1 overall to lead the North Division in the American Conference.

Chris Beckford-Tseu posted his second shutout of the season in just his fifth start. Beckford-Tseu stopped 33 shots on Saturday night to blank Reading 4-0. Friday night the Toronto Ontario native stopped 27 of 32 in the 'Blades 5-2 loss. The St. Louis Blues draft choice stopped 13 of 14 shots in relief of Barry Brust in a period of work on Wednesday.
