
Titans make final moves as opening night roster is announced

TRENTON, NJ (October 19, 2004) -The Trenton Titans announced two signings on Wednesday as they finalized their Opening Night roster for the 2005-06 season.
Returning to the Titans for the second time in his nine-year professional career is defenseman Likit Andersson. Originally from Thailand, Andersson was a member of Trenton's inaugural squad in 1999-2000. Andersson, 6'2, 190 lbs, had his best season in 2000-01 with the August Lynx when he totaled 44 points (8g, 36a) in 71 games and was selected to the 2001 ECHL All-Star Game. The 32-year old is a veteran of over 200 games in the ECHL and International Hockey League and almost 500 games in his pro career, including time spent in Germany, Holland and Sweden. Andersson split last season between the Bakersfield Condors and Vastra Frolunda HC Goteborg of the Swedish Elite League.
Also joining the Titans' roster is defenseman Scott Ford. Last season, Ford, 25, found his rookie year limited due to injuries. The Fort St. John, British Columbia native still appeared in one game for the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL) and chipped in 2 assists in 17 games for the Fresno Falcons. Ford, 6-3, 225 lbs, finished his collegiate career at Brown University in 2003-04, totaling 47 points (15g, 32a) and 130 penalty minutes over four years.

Twenty-four players comprise the roster, consisting of 14 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies.
Six players from last year's squad return to the Titans this season including defensemen Rosario Ruggeri, Vince Williams and Stephen Wood and forwards Scott Bertoli, Mathieu Brunelle and Chris Pittman.
Seven rookies will make their professional debut in 2005-06 as forwards Cole Byers, Ned Havern, Brian McConnell and Dustin Sproat, defensemen Scott Ford and Peter Tormey and goaltender Martin Houle take the ice for the Titans.
Bertoli, right wing Chris Thompson and Williams fill three of the four veterans spots on the Titans roster.
Six players were assigned by the Titans' AHL affiliates. The Philadelphia Phantoms sent down Wood, Ruggeri, Brunelle and Houle, while the Bridgeport Sound Tigers assigned Mark Lee and Chris Thompson
Goaltender Scott Stirling also returns for his second stint in Trenton. The sixth-year pro spent his rookie season in 2000-01 in New Jersey's capital going 32-10-3, helping the Titans to their first Kelly Cup appearance and earning honors for ECHL Goaltender of the Year, All-ECHL First Team and All-ECHL Rookie Team.
There are fourteen Canadian-born players on the roster, nine born in the United States and one hailing from Sweden.
The Titans' average height is 6-1 and average weight is 202 lbs.
Andersson is the oldest player on the Titans squad at 32, while Houle is the youngest at age 20.
Byers and Wires will start on the season on the 7-day injured reserve, while Sproat and Zingoni will be placed on the 30-day IR.

The Trenton Titans will raise their banner and receive rings to commemorate their Kelly Cup Championship on Opening Night against the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday, October 22 at 7:00pm at Sovereign Bank Arena.
