Salmon Kings Announce the 2005-06 Roster

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings announced today their 2005-06 roster.

As the Salmon Kings training camp comes to an end and the team finished their final workout before hitting the road tomorrow to take on the Fresno Falcons on Friday evening, Head Coach and General Manager Bryan Maxwell, made the final adjustments to the roster waiving Forward Scott Horvath and Defensemen Brad Cook and Craig Zubersky.

With veteran Forwards Steve Roberts and Seth Leonard on the 7 day injured reserve the Salmon Kings have 19 players including 10 Forwards, seven Defensemen and two Goaltenders currently on the active roster.

"The entire Salmon Kings organization is incredibly excited to begin the new season in Fresno on Friday, and we are looking forward to our home opener against Stockton in the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre," said Head Coach and General Manager of the Victoria Salmon Kings Bryan Maxwell.

The 2005-06 edition of the Victoria Salmon Kings includes four rookies (Derek Allan, Joel Andresen, Adam Taylor and Rob Muntain) and four veterans (Chad Dameworth, Kurt Drummond, Steve Lingren and Steve Roberts). Returning to the Salmon Kings line-up from last season is Derek Campbell, Nate Forster, Seth Leonard, Jan Sochor, and Ryan Wade.

The Victoria Salmon Kings 2005-06 season begins Friday October 21, 2005 in California against the Fresno Falcons. The two game road trip wraps up on Saturday against the Bakersfield Condors.

The Salmon Kings home opener is against the Stockton Thunder on Thursday November 10, 2005, the three game series continues on November 11th and 12th at the brand new, 7000 seat, Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, game time is 7:00pm PST.
