Ice Pilots to Remember Rick Flores

Pensacola, FL - The 2004-2005 Brabham Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that a trophy will be named in remembrance of Rick Flores who covered the Ice Pilots for the Northwest Florida Daily News since the team's inaugural season. Flores unexpectedly passed away this past summer.

The Ice Pilots will name the trophy the Rick Flores Trophy which will go to the Ice Pilots outstanding special team's player at the end of the season. The Ice Pilots will also have a moment of silence in remembrance of Rick Flores at their home opener this Friday vs. Greenville at 7:05 p.m.

"I know that Rick Flores has been a big part of the Ice Pilots success with his outstanding coverage for the Daily News. We selected the special teams trophy in his name because Rick was a special person," said Ice Pilots President Mario Forgione. "Rick Flores will always be a big part of the Ice Pilots family as the entire organization will miss him personally and professionally."

The Ice Pilots play home to the Greenville Grrrowl on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. and also the Gwinnett Gladiators on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Fans can purchase individual tickets in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, charge by phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.
