TRENTON, NJ - After mounting an improbable comeback to tie the game at the three apiece, Rick Kowalsky scored an overtime goal to lift the Trenton Titans to a 4-3 victory over rival Atlantic City in front of 7,048 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

The game-winner came with the clock ticking down late in the overtime period. In a rare 4-on-3 power play situation, the Titans found Kowalsky for a one-timer. The winger wristed a Matt Libby pass by Boardwalk Bullies goaltender Jake Moreland with just 55 seconds left in extra frame.

Forty minutes earlier, a win seemed out of reach as Atlantic City scored early and often in the first period. The Bullies struck first midway through the period, when center Brett Nowak stuffed a rebound by Andrew Allen amidst several bodies for a power play goal.

After capitalizing on the man advantage, the Bullies managed to score shorthanded as well. Late in the first period, Nowak intercepted a Trenton pass near the Atlantic City blue line, nearly lost control of the puck, then dashing cross-ice to net a breakaway chance (14:20).

Nearly four minutes later, Bullies defenseman Ian Walterson seemingly put the game out of reach when he netted his third goal of the season. On the score, Nowak notched his third point of the evening with an assist.

But the Bullies three-goal lead was short-lived, as Titans defender Matt Libby netted his second goal of the season with just 25 seconds remaining in the first period.

The Titans carried the momentum of Libby's goal into the second period and drew within one after Connor Dunlop registered his fifth goal of the year. The scoring opportunity was created by crisp passes from Brent Robinson and Matt Libby deep in the Atlantic City zone.

Leon Hayward completed Trenton's improbable comeback when he stuffed a Jerramie Domish rebound under the pads of Bullies goaltender Jake Moreland 9:50 into the second period.

The game remained knotted at three for over 24 minutes until Kowalsky delivered for the Titans in overtime.

The Titans return to action tomorrow night, January 30 at 5:05 p.m. as they travel to Wheeling to face the Nailers. Tune into to MoneyTalk 1350AM to hear all of the Titans hockey action. Fans can also go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live.
