Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
BILOXI, MS â The Pee Dee Pride dropped their third straight contest Saturday night, falling to the Mississippi Sea Wolves 4-1 in front of 4,210 fans at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Mississippi scored a pair of goals in the opening 20 minutes to take a 2-0 lead. At the 10:57 mark, the Sea Wolves took advantage of a Pride turnover in the neutral zone for the game's first goal. Jay Legualt carried the puck across the Pride blue line and dropped a pass for Nicholas Corbeil whose wrist shot beat Nick Boucher for his 10th goal of the season. The Sea Wolves doubled their lead at 17:59 with a power-play tally. Chris Cava skated the puck across the line, and took advantage of a screen in front of Boucher to beat him for his sixth goal of the year.
Mississippi extended its lead, scoring two more goals in the second period.
The Sea Wolves made it 3-0 just 55 seconds into the period, scoring their second power-play goal of the night. Boucher made the initial save on Legault's shot, but the rebound came back out to the slot and Travis Lisabeth was able to tuck the shot just inside the post for his 10th goal of the season. After the goal, Boucher was replaced in goal by Sebastien Laplante. Mississippi made it 4-0 at the 4:34 mark as Mike Jarmuth got behind the Pride defense, deked Laplante to the ice, and beat the Pride goaltender just inside the far post for his ninth tally of the season. Pee Dee got on the scoreboard just 1:07 into the final period. Matt Underhill made the initial save, but the rebound sat free on the far post, and Jake Wiegand pinching in from the blue line was able to slide the puck across the line for his second goal of the season. The Pride travel to Pensacola for a 6:00 ET face-off on Sunday against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Catch all of the action on WDAR Sunny 105.5 and www.peedeepride.com starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 5:40.
