San Diego Gulls News Release

DAYTON, Ohio – The San Diego Gulls announced Saturday that right-winger Cory Pecker has been assigned by the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. Pecker is with the team in Dayton and will be in the lineup against the Bombers Saturday night.

The Gulls also announced that defenseman Evgueni Nourislamov has been placed on the 30-day injured list with a broken thumb. Nourislamov suffered the injury during Friday morning's practice.

Mathieu Chouinard, thought to have re-injured his groin in Friday night's game against the Peoria Rivermen, actually had to be taken out of the game because of dehydration. Chouinard remains on the active roster and is available to play Saturday.

Pecker, 23, joins the club after beginning the season with Cincinnati. In 36 games for the Mighty Ducks, the 6-foot, 195-pound native of Montreal registered eight points (1g, 7a) and 41 penalty minutes. In his rookie season in 2002-03, Pecker led Cincinnati with 20 goals. He was a sixth round selection of the Calgary Flames in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
