
Titans add two more to roster

TRENTON, NJ (August 22, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with forward Rob Sich and defenseman Brian Yandle for the 2006-07 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sich, 22, was named the Southern Professional Hockey League's (SPHL) Rookie of the Year last season leading all first-year players in scoring with 56 points, 29 goals and 27 assists despite only playing in 46 games for the Florida Seals. The six-foot, 198-pound native of Windsor, Ontario joined Florida after spending six games with the United Hockey League's (UHL) Flint Generals and managed to finish fourth on the Seals in points (56) and second in goals (29). Adding seven points (4g, 3a) in nine postseason contests, Sich helped the Seals to the President's Cup championship series where they eventually fell to the Knoxville Icebears in four games.
Prior to beginning his pro career, Sich recorded 42 goals and 31 assists in 44 games with the Tecumseh Chiefs of the Western Ontario Hockey League. He then went on to join the UHL's Motor City Mechanics for two games picking up a goal and an assist.
Yandle, 23, enters his first year of professional hockey after playing four seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of New Hampshire. Originally from Milton, Mass., Yandle led Wildcats defensemen in scoring for three consecutive years while compiling 31 goals, 68 assists and 121 penalty minutes in 153 games. Following his senior season, the six-foot, 185-pound defenseman signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League registering three assists in six games.
The Titans now have twelve players signed for 2006-07, including forwards Scott Bertoli, Alex Goupil, Les Haggett, Jim Henkel, Brian McConnell, Scott Selig, Scott Sheppard and Peter Zingoni and defensemen Chris Cava and Peter Tormey.
