FORT WAYNE, Ind. - A collective offensive effort by the Fort Wayne TinCaps Monday night ended with a 7-4 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the rubber match of a three-game series at Parkview Field. Eight of the nine members of Fort Wayne's starting lineup had at least one base hit, led by solo home runs from Tyler Stubblefield and Felix Cabrera.

Early offense was a vital part of the Fort Wayne (13-11, 44-50) effort, as Stubblefield's fourth home run of the season gave the TinCaps a 1-0 lead after one inning. The Timber Rattlers Cameron Garfield responded with a second-inning solo homer, tying the game. Wisconsin (12-12, 56-37) scampered ahead 2-1 in the top of the third, but The TinCaps would take the lead for good in the bottom of the inning.

Mike Gallic, Yeison Asencio and Duanel Jones all knocked in runs in the third, putting Fort Wayne ahead 4-2. The TinCaps sent seven men to the plate in that frame against Timber Rattlers starter Mark Williams (5-7). Felix Cabrera hit his first home run of the season, a solo blast, in the fourth against Williams. The righthander worked five innings and allowed five runs on eight hits, while striking out two.

Frank Garces (6-4) earned his fifth win in his last six outings, by allowing two runs over five innings for the TinCaps. The lefty walked three and struck out three.

Each team would score twice more over the final four innings, with the TinCaps adding two in the seventh and the Timber Rattlers plating two in the ninth. The win for the TinCaps helped secure a sixth series victory in eight tries to begin the second half.

Fort Wayne has the day off on Tuesday before heading west for a six-game road trip, featuring three games against the Cedar Rapids Kernels and three against the Quad Cities River Bandits.
