HOT CAPS: Fresh off a 3-game sweep of the South Bend Cubs, the TinCaps are on a season-long 5-game winning streak. Since starting the year 0-6, the TinCaps have played winning baseball, going 20-16, and have won back-to-back series, including taking 3 of 4 from the Whitecaps last week. Meanwhile, West Michigan just swept the Lake County Captains in a 3-game set.

THE ROAD AHEAD: The TinCaps are beginning an 8-game road trip with 4 against the Whitecaps followed by 4 against the Lansing Lugnuts. This is Fort Wayne's longest road trip of the first half. The team's longest trip of the season will come Aug. 18-27 when they are scheduled for 10 consecutive road games at Lansing (3), Great Lakes (3), and South Bend (4).
RUIZ ON THE RISE: Esteury Ruiz went 3-for-3 on Sunday with a double, plus a walk.
